To request a quote specific to your requirements and a draft commission agreement, or to be send this information in a more screen-reader accessible format, contact me here. Please note my rate is based on A-N’s day rate guidelines.
Larger, smaller, and custom sizes are priced on request; contact me here for a quote. Additional fee for preparing digitised drawings for professional digital/litho printing - £20. Canvas, panel, artboard, painting, mounting and framing are also available, prices on request.
As part of the commissioning process, I will produce a document containing our commission agreement, which you will sign and return. The commission agreement is our legal arrangement between Artist and Commissioner. It means that I agree to use my best aesthetic skill and judgement upon payment to deliver your work by a given date, and that you agree to the fee, specification for the artwork, and terms for use of images. The document also contains an artwork description, schedule, your quote, any necessary image licencing details, and an invoice if required.
Commission agreements aren’t a thrilling read, and I try to keep them brief, but they are important; please read yours thoroughly.
Lines of drawn code can be straight, curved, spiral, or loop. There is a limit to how many Morse code characters fit into a given size, and this will vary depending on the specifics of your artwork’s design. Below are some examples of popular poems to give you a rough idea of the size of encoded texts. Converting Morse code into a drawing means representing spaces between letters and words, so please note character count includes spaces.
A6; 80 - 200 characters (example; ‘To know the dark’, by Wendall Berry)
A4; 300 – 500 characters (example; ‘Be nobody’s darling’, by Alice Walker)
10 x 10 inches; 400-700 characters (example; ‘Sonnet 29’, by William Shakespeare)
A3; 600 - 2000 characters (example; ‘Sunt leones’, by Stevie Smith)
Your quote will vary around the given guideline prices, based on the number of characters in your text. This is because the length of the work or text can alter the amount of page area taken up. For example, consider the words ‘Ruby’ and ‘Emerald’. To fit on an A4 page, the letters in Emerald will need to be shorter than those in the work Ruby to fit the space. Please consider this when choosing your text.
